Last week we had visitors, Emi and Flo. Emilia (Emi) is one of my best friends when I was studying in Hamburg, Germany. Florian (Flo) is her husband, they got married in Germany last year. I was still in Germany at that time, so I attended their wedding.

Actually their trip to US was a surprise gift for Emi’s birthday. It’s so nice, isn’t it? Flo is really really a good husband, and they are a very nice couple. Funny, warm, romantic (with fights sometimes, though hehehe), and they love travelling so much. Flo had written me an email regarding the trip and asked me not to tell Emi a word about it. So we planned such a schedule and I asked him to stay at our place. So, that’s it. Flo gave the surprise ticket as Emi’s birthday gift on Friday morning, they flew from Hamburg on Saturday morning and arrived in San Francisco (SF) on Saturday night. Stayed in SF for three days then headed to our place on Wednesday.

I was very happy to see them again. We had lunch together at our place. Then they went to Sequoia National Park nearby. After my husband came back from office, we had dinner together at a Mexican restaurant. On the way back, me and Emi had a long talk (read: gosip gosip hehehe). We even still continued to talk until late of night. Flo went to bed early as he had cold and needed to save his energy for driving the next day.

The next morning, my husband went to the office very early so he could not had breakfast together with them. We had breakfast about 9 and they left half an hour later. It was kind of sad, because I really wanted to spend more time with them. But anyway, thank you guys for coming. I really had a great time with you. Hope we can meet next year in Germany.
